I think the extremes of athiest darwinism and biblically literal creationism are both scientific and spiritual lies. Faith and science are complementary. The question of how is answered by science, and the question of why is answered by faith. Faith cannot absorb science, and science cannot negate faith. Its wrong to go to either of these extremes. To use the analogy of marriage and family, science and faith are the proverbial father and mother of the human experience. I think these are always in opposition because people a. fear the unknown, and b. are stubborn and unwilling to accept something as a fact because they were raised in such a manner or because they dislike change. I agree with you though. Although there are somethings about evolution that I disagree with, I won't say that it wasn't real.

They don't have to be at odds. Francis S. Collins, head of the Human Genome Project, is both a highly respected scientist and a deeply committed Christian. The only people who think that acceptance of evolution is necessarily in conflict with faith are the hard core fundamentalist Christians and the hard core fundamentalist atheists, two groups who have more in common than either would like to admit.

Yes, the question of how is answered by science. However, "faith" doesn't answer anything. You say it answers "why" -- ok. Christians have "faith" in one version of "why." Muslims have faith in an entirely different version of "why." Hindus have faith in yet another entirely different version of "why." Buddhists have faith in yet another "why." And on and on and on... All of those versions of "why" are contradictory, and can't possibly all be right (though all could possibly be wrong). How are we to tell which, if any, really is the "why?" We can't -- because faith requires no evidence, no reason, no examination, no justification, no basis in reality...faith requires NOTHING. And since it requires nothing, it can give back nothing. If you want to really KNOW if there's a why and if so what it is, "faith" clearly isn't the ticket. Because anybody can have "faith" in anything. To examine, compare, and test among the thousands and thousands of different "faith" stories, you have to fall back on...evidence. Science. Objectivity. Oops, so much for "faith." Faith can make up a "why" -- it can't answer anything. That made-up, unverified, supposedly-comforting "why" apparently satisfies some people, but not me. Peace.

So theres NO WAY 2 prove the BB is the cause of the universe. Whether the universe is expanding or not we cant prove the driving force of the propulsion is due 2 force(s) from outside of the universe/the BB/other forces or if acceleration is due 2 the universe collapsing/being sucked outward (we cant get outside of it - quantum mech particle out of nothing claims cant b proved w/o erasing the universe/us 2 do a "clean" experiment) - so the red shift/Doppler effect/dark matter calc cant b tested. 4. The "1rst" cause of everything (no matter what scientists claim) must b an uncaused cause. 4 singularity 2 pop in2 existence @ 1 small point with the colossal energy needed 2 produce a universe is 1 tall order (It would take @ least a [near] infinite force [like gravity] 2 gather & keep enough energy 2 go from 0 2 billions of degrees kelvin within it if its even possible). Even the so-called perpetual regression type theories double-talk (like the 1800s perpetual motion scams) ignore the fact that there had 2 b a 1rst cause no matter how many universes/dimensions 1 proposes existed prior 2 our universe. The process (work) 4 creating singularity/a universe uses energy & unusable energy like gamma/x-ray radiation escapes thus perpetual universe regression isnt possible (instant universe began all laws applied). 5. Ignoring #4, even if a singularity "blob" was present prior 2 the BB we'd hv problems. Singularity can only hv 1 property (whatever "it" is) or it isnt in the state of singularity. This supposed blob could only b created thru full annihilation of all atomic structures of any matter/fabric of space entering it. Since this blob only has 1 property it can't react 2 itself, heat, pressure or other particles in the vicinity (no matter how unstable their atomic properties r b/c of the presence of the super immense gravitational field/annihilation in2 a single property blob). 6. The blob cant reach a "critical mass" threshold b/c of the state of its existence (& inertia problem). B/c the force of gravity would b billions of trillions of magnitudes greater than @ the center of a Super Nova, it couldnt act/react like a Super Nova. 7. 4 the singularity blob 2 expand/explode there must b some kind of "super" detonator present 2 cause an expansion/explosion reaction. The immensity of the gravitational force necessary 2 cause singularity 2 form & retain that state (2 gather & contain enough singularity "stuff" 2 make our universe), would cause another problem.
