Question by : What makes a science? How does psychology use scientific methods to reach its goals? Also, are there any theorists or philosophers that I can search that talk about psychology as a science? Best answer for What makes a science? How does psychology use scientific methods to reach its goals?:

Answer by SSudsy
Psychology research is advanced in using scientific methods to further knowledge. For example, if I wanted to assess the strain-stress relationship, I systematically sample from a population, give them an intervention (i.e. a questionnaire to measure their level of stress), and comapre the differences between a treatment and a control group. Most peer reviewed psych journals are scientific, so any local university psych department would discuss psychology as a science.
