Ben, Lanisha and Devin head to Santa Ana, California to investigate a classic flying saucer case that has divided the UFO community for years. Using a vintage camera and a giant pyrotechnic loaded blimp, they see if they can blow the case apart. Meanwhile, Bill, Jael and Austin head to Joplin Missouri to tackle the controversial topic of so called 'flying rods'. They meet a videographer who claims they are interdimensional beings, and break out the science to find out whether it's paranormal, or something they can explain.
Telus World of Science, better known to Vancouverites simply as Science World, has been a popular destination for science enthusiasts ranging from elementary school students to adults. With its unique exterior design, the geodesic dome shape, Science World can be easily identified as the giant sphere situated along False Creek. It has also been affectionately called the "silver golf ball".
Various exhibitions and shows are happening at Science World all the time. Past exhibition includes Body Worlds, the anatomical exhibition of real human body parts, which was highly anticipated. Exhibitions are usually shown for a limited time only, so it may be a good idea to keep track of what exhibitions are coming to town so you don't miss out on the ones you want to see. The current exhibition at Science World is GEEE! in Genome, which focuses on genomics. Topics include genes, DNA, genomes, stem cells, and anything that you can possibly think of relating to genomics.
< p>The OMNIMAX theatre is a 400-seat theatre showing various documentaries on a giant screen, one of the world's largest, that is nine times larger than regular movie theatre screens. As with the feature exhibitions, feature films are only available for a limited time, so please check the schedule ahead of time to avoid disappointment.
There are 6 permanent galleries within Science World. They are: Kidspace, Eureka, Our World, BodyWorks, Search, and Science News and Views. They provide a wealth of information and hands-on activities for both kids and adults to fill in the time between films and presentations.
Other events are also happening at the Science World. The upcoming Polar PJ Party allows visitors to come dressed in their comfy pajamas and catch a showing of The Polar Express. There are also adult-only events, where adults 19 years and older can enjoy a night at Science World without any kids around. There are no restriction that these adults must behave like adults, however.
