Question by : How good are future job opportunties for computer science majors? Can they get jobs in gaming industry? Learning computer science, do you even learn about gaming programming. I am only a semster into my major and was wondering when i graduate in 2015, how good my job prospects will be due to this economy? Best answer for How good are future job opportunties for computer science majors? Can they get jobs in gaming industry?:

Answer by Richard L
Depending on the school you attend there may be some gaming related courses available. The gaming area is largely contract work so there are large periods of time when you would be in between jobs. Some of this work has gone overseas to countries where programmer labor costs are less. Your best bet is to pursue Computer Science and then see how the gaming field looks in 2 years. Usually schools will let you shift majors up through the start of your junior year with little loss of time or credits. Best wishes!

The field of computer science is one of the best fields to get into these days. Don't listen to the people that say all those jobs are going to India or china because they don't know what they're talking about. With a computer science major you can work for almost any company you can think of. If they use computers, they have computer science jobs. And yes you can get into gaming with this. Different schools will have courses that could help you get into the gaming career. I know Drexel university has a game development track in their software engineering major.

Choosing a science major is no easy task. There are many different science degrees that can lead to a wide array of careers. Some might have more to do with the land, sea and sky while others deal more with the life forms that inhabit them. Still other science degrees might lead students toward fields such as medicine.

In Agricultural Science, students learn about using land and water to produce crops, livestock and plants for food, ornamental and environmental uses. Making wise use of natural resources can be particularly important where populations relying on food and water increase, renewable fuels, such as sugar and corn, are being explored and plants and trees help clean harmful gases ushered into the air. Students who obtain a degree in agricultural science might expect to enter careers as food technologists, farm and forest managers, animal and plant specialists and more.

In Biology, students learn about life - the life of plants, fish, animals (huma ns included) and more. Students learn what these living organisms, as they're known, are made of, what they need to survive and the one feature they all have in common - cells. Students with this type of degree might ultimately enter fields such as agriculture or medicine.

In Biotechnology, students learn how to combine biology and technology to develop or change products, such as medicines and vaccines and more. Biotechnology is also known as genetic engineering, because it's thought to improve upon living organisms so that they're put to their best possible use. It was born when cloning was addressed and has since become a means also for creating everything from food to fabrics, for helping with agricultural efforts and managing the environment.

In Chemistry, students learn about solids, liquids and gases and their elements, or substances, including the smallest of elements - the atom. Studying chemistry often provides insight also into chemical changes that ta ke place, from human growth to transforming water to steam. More recent instruction might also involve nanoscience, or manipulating atoms and molecules to build or create something with nanoscale materials of 1 to 100 nanometers, where one nanometer measures 1 billionth of a meter. Students who earn science degrees in chemistry at the Master's degree level might expect to command six-figure salaries annually.

In Environmental Science, students learn about the earth - its soil, water and air - and how what humans do can negatively affect it. Students studying environmental science might also learn about public policies as they relate to the environment and how people might be better stewards of the planet. With increased environmental awareness, particularly as it relates to climate change, students who graduate with environmental science degrees might expect career opportunities to grow as well.

In Physics, students gain one of the most comprehensive of natural s cience educations and study one of the oldest of academic disciplines. It's all about matter and energy and how the two relate. Students in a physics program are likely to learn about the laws of motion and gravitation associated with classical physics as well as modern physics, which is often used when examining extremely small masses and very high speeds..
