"Taanya is a beautiful, intelligent and multi-faceted computer science student in Mumbai. As she is about to pass out of college, her parents begin to talk about her marriage. That's when she tells them that she likes a boy called Tej and wants to marry him. Tej also loves her but is reluctant to accept the proposal because of a problem in his family. Astrology is what is known as a pseudoscience. This means that it is presented as a science, but it does not have the same theoretically construction that is required to be considered a science. However, this does not mean that astrology doesn't have qualities that are scientific in nature.
What Is Science?
Science is the systematic study of a subject. It requires the use of a seven step process of discovery that is called the scientific method or scientific inquiry. In order to be considered scientific the conclusions drawn need to be studied objectively, they need to utilize an experiment that can be replicated by anyone with the right equipment and training, and that can also produce results that mirror those obtained in the original experiment.
Why Isn't Astrology a Science?
The main reason why astrology is not considered to be a science is that it is based in mysticism and mythology, as opposed to facts. This means that the th eories that are used to draw conclusions in astrology are not based on facts, and because of this they cannot be considered scientific predictions. However, this doesn't mean that occasionally astrologists don't make accurate predictions.
Ways Astrology Is Scientific
The scientific method starts by making observations of a system or a test sample. These observations are used to make predictions that are then tested. Astrology has followed these basic steps. Astrology, which utilizes the positions of the celestial bodies in the sky, birthdates and other personal factors to make predictions, is based on centuries of observations of astronomical events. As these events took place astrologers began to note patterns in human behavior that seemed to correlate with the event. The astrologers then created a model that could be used to make predictions about future events.
The Fly in the Ointment
While astrology can produce predictions that are a ccurate in certain cases, it is difficult to replicate accurate predictions consistently with different researchers. This indicates that it may be just coincidental that some predictions come true. Another factor that makes astrological predictions seem accurate for a large number of people is that they are worded in a manner that is very general in nature. This allows each person to interpret the prediction differently, which increases the chances that the prediction will "come true."
Value of Astrology
Astrology is considered to be a component of the New Age religious movement, even though it has been a part of human culture for millennium. While astrology may not provide humans with an accurate way to predict the future it does have a few very valuable by-products. First of all astrology can be a great form of entertainment. It is fun to have your horoscope cast or your future predicted at a party or at a street fair. Secondly, the study of various astr ology systems from different cultures can help scientists understand social structures and belief systems, and in some cases they can even help to uncover unique astronomical phenomenon and events that took place in the past.

To be eligible for a masters degree in physics, you need to have taken at the very least calc I and II, linear algebra, differential equations, calculus-based intro physics I and II, modern physics, classical mechanics, thermodynamics & statistical mechanics, electricity & magnetism, and quantum mechanics. Most physics majors took twice as many courses. Masters programs in the sciences don't start over from the beginning - they assume you've already spent 4 years building the background. A bachelors in fine arts is unlikely to qualify you for any science masters program. Astrophysics masters programs expect the same as a physics background, and theoretical physics is a way of approaching physics, not a field of physics. If you want to do this, you need to go get another bachelors degree first.
