Here Is How You Can Write Some Interesting Science Fiction Books [sciencetechnology-center.blogspot.com]

Question by led: How important is it to actually know computer science when working? I am currently in my second year in college and I am a cs major. So far I have barely passed all my classes, and therefore really do not feel as if I know a lit about computer science to actually hold a job. My question is, can I get by with just a degree, and if you don't know how to write a piece of code at your job, what do they do? TY Best answer for How important is it to actually know computer science when working?:

if you want to become a professional in the software industry, there are primarily two types of jobs to start with, writing code or testing code. For writing code, you need coding skills, while testing code is different. Computer science has more to it because it may teach you algorithm, parallel processing, etc, which are more complicated than normal coding

You need to want to know Computer Science. Since CS and IT advances as such a high rate as it does you constantly need to study new technologies and "update" you knowledge about CS & IT. What you know now will be "useless" in 5 or 10 years if you don't study new things as they come out. So if you barely passed all of your classes CS might not be the best thing for you... As i said you NEED to want to know CS so if you are not interested in learning it, what't the point? I don't mean to be harsh but you may have chosen a wrong profession. Try to develop an interest for CS. Read articles in your free time, learn programming, networking, security etc... If you don't do that your future might not be that bright. Also it depends on what you want to do as a CS Major. Server administration, Programming etc... Try and find out what your goal is and focus on that. If you will be a programmer and you barely passed your "Team management" class or something like that, that's not really that bad. Also at some point everybody in IT business gets a management job, because as you get older and older, keeping track of new technologies keeps getting harder and harder.

If you get the degree, then go on to teach gym, you don't have to know computer science. But if you get a job in which the work you'll be doing involves computer science, and you want to stay employed, you have to understand computer science.

No. CS is a terrible major for people who actually want to invent things with software- it's worse than a Microsoft Certification when it comes to real world relevance. Presuming you have the CS/IT/Dev personality, and you know a few programming languages- you are good to get started professionally... You must, however, finish your collage degree, period. Change your major to something more interesting if you like but you'll want to get a BS. You will never again have the opportunity to get the sheepskin. -Learn these while you can- remember you can only pimp out what the Johns are buying. -Sharepoint -.C#.NET, ASP.NET, Linq, Ajax -Java (not script) -The wrapper twosome (Ruby, Python) Consider applying to a big company for a junior position- "Dell n00b" us better long-term than "Acme Senior RandomJobTitle"

There are many people that have a knack for words and many of these people are capable of writing science fiction books. In order to create an interesting story one must begin with a general topic. In addition, you also need to have a good understanding of science and to build up your knowledge it is recommended that you read books and articles as well as magazines and furthermore you should make it a point to speak to people who are inclined to reading scientific subjects.

Once you have got your general topic sorted out and once you are sure that you are knowledgeable about this subject you can then start writing down the draft of the book. You should therefore start making notes about interesting things and then you have to pick a suitable topic which you are confident you can write about.

One of the questions that you will need to find a suitable answer for is that of what if. When writing fiction and that too on scientific subjects you will find that it will open up many horizons and if you are not able to keep these in check things can become very crazy for you.

You need to think up something special and when it concerns a what if scenario you should give your imagination a free run. For example, you should think about writing about situations in which humans become capable of cloning themselves.

Once you have decided on a particular story line it is then up to you to decide on a suitable conflict. The simplest conflict topic is that of man going up against technology or even man versus man. Aliens will obviously play a very important role in these stories and will obviously be the villains of the story. Technology will have to be used by humans to ward off alien attacks.

At the very least, when it comes to creating a story one must not be afraid of stepping out of the box and being as original as possible. Once this is taken care of it is up to you to pick a suitable time period and you must also pick a suitable setting for your story.

A majority of these stories are those that take place in a time period that is not too far ahead of the present times. Also, these stories go beyond simply talking about our planet as there is scope for using other sciences that can be incorporated into the story. However, once a time period has been set then it is important that the story is one that stays within the limits of this time period.

The next step is that of choosing characters for the story and then you can begin with the main outline of the story. After that, it is just a question of writing all the required chapters.

Last but not least, when writing science fiction books you will want to know the difference between writing on fantasy and on science fiction. The latter is about occurrences that are scientific in nature and the former kind is about events that are not really going to happen in our existing world.
