Actually, the purpose of science can be to disprove a hypothesis as much to prove one. Skepticism is essential to the scientific process, so performing an experiment to support a conclusion or hypothesis is only half the procedure. Also, your conclusions from a previous experiment are really just observations of a different type. So you really need to start with a hypothesis rather than a conclusion about your upcoming experiment.
