Question by No Chance Without Jesus: How has science and logic become the final authority for so many people? Science How did it go from a study of facts.....to a philosophy and an unassailable authority on what is? Science is a handy and useful tool, but hardly infallible. Logic Only one lobe of the brain is tied to logic, fully half of the brain is completely independent from logic to deal with the many esoteric issues of life....so why does logic become the ultimate authority? ....does it not equate to foolishness to require that all truth fit into these narrow confines? Best answer for How has science and logic become the final authority for so many people?:

Obviously logic has no hold on you. And no, that's not a compliment, something tells me you would take it as such.

Answer by J.P.
Because science can be shown to be based on three axioms without which knowledge is unattainable. Emotion isn't a method towards truth, it is a method towards social interaction.

as opposed to being illogical? I'd say logic is better than stupidity, but maybe that's just me. If god exists, I don't think he'd want us to be mindless drones.

Answer by CorruptedSpirit, not dead yet...
1 - who says science is infallible? 2 - we've conclusively proven the universe abides by principles of logic

Eh, I think you'll find that science and logic actually work. This has a *lot* to do with it.

"narrow confines" really? a scientific mind is more open minded than anything; there is a difference between openmindeness and gullibility; proof "Science is a handy and useful tool, but hardly infallible" and that's what makes it great... the fact that science is open to new information and new ways of thinking is what makes it great... It's foolish to believe things without proof and even more foolish to claim certainty without proof...

Answer by .
"Only one lobe of the brain is tied to logic." Ours is fully intact. I can hear yours unravelling from here.

Answer by zero
It's either that or some biased human authority. I know you would love for us to just take your word for it, but you won't take ours either so you should be able to understand our reluctance. I use both sides of my brain in being skeptical of your claims - they are neither logical nor amusing.

So you think faith, that is believing in something without evidence, is a better alternative?
