Teach them about why leaves fall. How clouds are made--how rain fills the lakes and evaporates--plants drink water and turn into flowers. About the 4 seasons. Why the lakes freeze and the snow covers the ground. Ice cubes melting. Frogs hibernating, laying eggs, and polywogs. (metamorphisis) Use your imagination. Are you a licensed teacher?

I homeschool my 2nd grader and we been learning about the outdoors such as bugs and plants. Doing outdoor projects is great, especially in the fall, perfect timing, this week we plan on making a homeade bird feeder, using pinecones, lard and seeds/birdfeed, and string to hang on a branch. Try googling 2nd grade science. Good Luck!

At the moment I am teaching 2nd grade...in science it ranges from good foods to eat for your body, health and hygiene, parts of plants and seeds, outdoor life/cycles, insects, they start to learn about the solar system, air, conservation, how things work and move. It is basically introducing them the the world of life, earth and space science. I have listed some sources that I go to to help me when I need fresh ideas away from our text book. Check them out...eduref.org is a great site.

You can go to your state's department of education website and download the content standards for 2nd grade science. There you can learn what they study in science. I teach 2nd grade in California-we teach animal life cycles, rocks, fossils and dinosaurs, sound, energy & matter, How machines work.

Doch überstehen viele selbst mehrere Monate Frost. Sie produzieren Substanzen, die vorm Gefrieren schützen oder versuchen das Wasser in ihren Zellen möglichst umfassend loszuwerden.
