Star Trek Online Science Ship Guide [sciencetechnology-center.blogspot.com]

Science ships in Star Trek Online are different from other ships you can get your hands on. While most players choose other ships due to their better combat capabilities, players who decide to play with science ships are usually more patient and don't mind winning battles in other ways and not only by having more powerful shields of stronger weapons.

Science ships don't have the best weapons, the largest crew compliment or the strongest shields and hull, but they have plenty of other features which make them a formidable opponent indeed. Science ships are more inclined to beat their enemies by tactical planning, discovering weaknesses in other ships by using sensors. One of the best features of these ships is the ability to detect cloaked vessels which greatly help when combating Klingons.

Science vessels in Star Trek also have better auxiliary systems as well as more advanced deflectors which also have a great impact on the outcome of your battles. They ar e great for controlling battles with their various buffs and debuff abilities and are more than welcome in larger fleets as support. Although, that does not mean they can not complete missions or beat opponents on their own; quite the contrary, they are more than capable of doing so.

In larger fleets science vessels are very useful for their vast technical expertise and can air their fellow captains by making their ships more stronger in a lot of areas. They can also help by making enemy ships weaker, and all that is their specialty. There are over a dozen science class ships available to players in STO only in Federation faction, and it depends on their rank. On each rank (level) there are several different available SC ships and each one has their pros and cons.

Question by Katarina: How does the 2010 oil spill effect the science of the earth? I have to do an STSE for grade 9 science, and i was wondering (for the science part) how does the oil spill effect the science (land, chemistry) of the earth. Like not the environment, but the air and land and water. HELP! Best answer for How does the 2010 oil spill effect the science of the earth?:

Answer by Jonathan G
Air - Some groups are burning patches of oil before they reach the shore so that makes pollution. Land - The oil, which is black, will absorb more heat from the sun which will make the area hotter. Water - Pretty obvious, oil kills the animals and blocks sunlight from getting to aquatic plants.

Answer by oldtimer
Exclusive of environment, not much. If the latest guesses are any where near correct on flow rate, (and that is far from guaranteed) the conclusion is that pressures in the Macondo reservoir are higher than any previously discovered. The previous max unhindered flow for a well was just over 32000 b/d. the guess of 1.7 million gallons converts to near 40,500 b/d, a 20% increase. In the meantime, not enough is known about how the well in curently restricted within the BOP. Additionally, that higher rate would only occur after the riser was cut eliminated the crimps, folds and bends in the collapsed riser.
