My daughter is a great student and science is her favorite area. Could this have been a fluke? On the test date, she told me that the science section was unbelievable. She said other smart students at her testing sight were moaning about the science section also. She makes A's in her AP science courses. Is it likely that her score on this section will raise dramatically without special help? Best answer for My daughter took the ACT and BOMBED the science section. Are some tests more difficult than others?:
Answer by j
I have never been associated with ACT, but in the exams I administer there are no tests that are more difficult than others. Different versions have the exact same questions, but in a different order to help prevent cheating.

My daughter scored very high on the science section. She was in AP physics. But took honors chemistry and biology in high school. Most scores can be raised but what do you mean by drastically. From a 18 to a 28, I doubt it. From a 18 to a 23, yes. Have her go to her public library and see what help is there. There are many books out for studying the ACT. And our library had a very cheap ACT study program.

I just took the ACT, and I also love and do well in science. I got a 25 in that section, which I think isn't that good. I think it's because it IS unbelievably hard...there are so many charts and graphs, and the time limit is impossible. Just focus on the other three scores, because the higher they are, the less the science score will lower her composite.
