Take your science class into the 21st century with a solar science class project. Build a solar panel. It will be fun, exciting, and a real class motivator. If you are a hands-on high school science teacher who likes to work with students, this may be just the project you've been looking for. It will produce many important learning outcomes for your students. Your solar panel project can be the core around which you teach electricity and a sustainable future for planet earth.
Your students can learn:
properties of conductors properties of insulators properties of semi-conductors how solar panels produce electricity how to build a solar panel practical applications for solar panels Move your science class into the 21st centuryYou can introduce your students to a possible new career they might consider in the field of solar energy. Solar power is a fast growing 21st century industry that will need many new trained workers, installers, scientists, managers, and other job skills. With this project you can teach your students the fundamentals of small scale solar panel systems.
Your state may offer financial incentives for schools to have a professionally-installed solar power system. This would reduce the cost of electricity for your school. Your solar panel science project will be a learning experience, not only for your students, but for your entire school. Perhaps your school science project can be the catalyst for your school to "go solar."
You will be in step with the green movement that is belatedly sweeping plant earth. Solar power represents a critical component of future power generation throughout the world.
You will be preparing your students to make informed decisions on power supply for their future homes

I am doing a science project (7th grade) and we are planting small seeds and observing. I forgot to bring home a paper that shows the procedures for what to get and do. I really need this paper because it is due on Tuesday. If you have any idea what I'm talking about or happen to have a kid that has this paper or you are a teacher please help me out and list all the procedures. Thanks this will help me SO much! What you need to do will depend on what type of seeds you're planting - some should be covered by the soil, while other can sit on top. Some types need to be filed down to make their seed coat thinner. You may also have instructions as to how many seeds to plant in each container, and what type of container to use. Also, different instructors might have different directions for their students, so I wouldn't just go by what someone else tells you, if you don't even know who they are or where they're from. Since you still have a day to do the planting, do you know anyone else in your class that you could call either tonight or tomorrow morning who could tell you what you were supposed to do?
