The juvenile great white expedition continues off the coast of southern California, where Dr. Domeier and the crew successfully land two juvenile white sharks on the first day of their Malibu expedition. 5th grade science project ideas can be a little more complex than the previous grades as the children are at the age where they can do the majority of the experiment on their own, with guidance from their teacher or parents. It should still be a fairly straight forward project mind you, and one that they're quite interested in because if they pick a topic they don't really care for they're going to get bored and it will show in their work.
An example of a 5th grade science project ideas is to see if people have the same sense of smell, which can be accomplished by having two people stand at separate ends of a room while you stand in the middle, and open a few different thinks such as vinegar and lemon oil, and see which person smells it first. Have them record the times they first smell the fragrance so you can see if they differ.
Another project idea is to see if food that's cooked in the microwave cools at the same rate as food cooked in the oven, to do t his all you need to do is cook the foods to the same temperature, then place a thermometer in each one and see which cools down the fastest. A few more ideas are which brand of batteries last the longest, or does the color of a light affect how well it cuts through the fog? There are many, many ideas of projects for 5th graders, it's all a matter of finding something the child is interested in.

Random and pointless? I don't understand, what would lead you to think that? Evolution isn't random changes; it's species bettering themselves and evolving into something more than they were before, and if that's more random to you than improving technique in sports, then you're very confused. Nor is it pointless; we're alive because we want to live, and our living is for our own enjoyment. Pointless to others, yes, but is my life really pointless to me? Hell no, I'm living it up.

Science does not say that life is random and pointless. That which survives is that which is capable of surviving. Things that are not "logical and awesome" died or were killed off (and some things that are awesome get killed off anyway). Life is the end result of a steady chain of inevitability that starts with the fundamentals of chemistry and the fundamentals of chemistry follow basic mathematics. Each step from the rise of human beings to the origin of basic elements can be traced with remarkable accuracy. Open your eyes to science and the truth shall make you free.

"Random and pointless?" Who is teaching you science? Have you ever seen an orchid? It is what it is because of millions of years of attracting pollinators. That is the "point" of the flower to the plant ... its purpose, its function. And the color and shape are not "random", but shaped by these millions of years of surviving in an environment in which those plants with flowers that best attract pollinators get to reproduce more. That is precisely the NON-randomness of natural selection.

why would life have a purpose? what other physical phenomenon have "purposed"? what's gravity's purpose? what's the purpose of hydrogen bonding? existence just IS... we don't exist to serve some purpose for someone...
